DC's Nightwing movie is “not lost yet" says attached director

It’s been four years since Warner Bros revealed that they had begun work on a Nightwing movie. Needless to say, following WB's tumultuous falling-out with the SnyderVerse and a worldwide pandemic, progress hasn’t been smooth.

Ever since the movie’s announcement, Warner Bros has been silent on the project. The studio did attach The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay to the project, but no other information has been given.

The Nightwing movie isn't lost

In an interview with CinemaBlend, Chris McKay explained that the movie “is still a reality". While it appears that no progress has been made on the film since its reveal, the filmmaker is still interested in directing.

McKay explained that Warner Bros has been focused on other challenges, saying:

It'll be a “big, emotional movie"

In the interview, McKay teased that there is at least a finished script for Nightwing waiting for its turn. The filmmaker also explained that the version of the movie that's written isn't tied to the SnyderVerse at all. He revealed:

No release period has been given for the Nightwing movie.
