Epic Games, the makers of Fortnite, recently announced that Apple has blocked the game's submission. This has prevented Epic Games from releasing Fortnite on the U.S. App Store and the Epic Games Store for iOS in the UK.

This makes it clear that Fortnite won't be available for users in these regions until further notice. Since this announcement, Fortnite has been offline on iOS devices since last Friday.

After Fortnite's return was blocked from the U.S. App Store, Epic Games told the court that Apple was violating the injunction and they should be forced to approve the app. The released legal document concluded by saying, "For the foregoing reasons, Epic requests that the Court (1) finding that Apple violated the Injunction by refusing to consider Epic's Fortnite submission; and (2) requiring Apple to accept any compliant version of Fortnite onto the U.S. storefront of the App Store."

In response, Apple told Epic Games that the injunction didn't change its legal right to terminate its developer account in 2020. Apple said it won't consider allowing Fortnite on the App Store until all U.S. litigation has ended. Currently, Apple is appealing a court order that forced it to change its U.S. App Store rules, allowing developers to link customers to non-App Store purchase options. However, the appeal is still pending, and Apple hasn't heard from the court yet.

This move by Apple has sparked a discussion between people on social media, with many blaming Apple for being predatory and many saying Epic should pay the fee to Apple to upload Fortnite to their platform.

Responding to this, Epic Games Founder & CEO Tim Sweeney said that with Apple delaying Fortnite updates, the company can't operate without timely updates. Apple suggested Epic Games withdraw the U.S. submission, but it may be an obstructive legal maneuver.
