With Skype shutting down, people who were still using it are migrating to Teams. Teams, with all its features, allows users to record meetings for later reference. But is it possible to download Teams recordings and access them offline or share them? Well, yes, and this guide will help you through the steps to locate and download your Teams meetings.
How to download MS Teams recording?
Before getting started, make sure that you are on the business, enterprise, or education version of Teams. This is because downloading and recording meetings isn't generally available in the free or personal versions of Microsoft Teams.
If you are on the required version, then downloading a meeting recording from Microsoft Teams is a straightforward process. Also, Teams meeting recordings are only available for 14 days. So it's important to download it during this time period if you want to keep it. Here's a simple step-by-step guide to help you:
- Navigate to the Files or Shared tab in the meeting chat or channel.
- Search and select the recording you want to download.
- Select More options > Download.
- The video will now start downloading for future access.

Do note that only the meeting organizer has the permission to download a recorded meeting. If you can't find the download option, contact your administrator or the person who recorded the meeting.
Downloading a meeting will ensure that you always have access to critical meeting materials for future reference or distribution.
