Echo on Google Meet is a common issue that can quickly disrupt meetings, causing confusion and frustration. Whether it's your voice bouncing back or someone else's looping audio, echo in Google Meet could make communication difficult.
Fortunately, resolving echo on Google Meet is extremely easy. Follow our step-by-step guide for successful Google Meet echo cancellation.
Clear App Cache and Data (Google Meet App)

- Long-press the Google Meet app on your phone and select App Info > Storage & Cache.
- Select 'Clear Cache', restart the app, and then join the meeting again.
Lower Speaker Volume
Lower your device's volume so the microphone doesn't pick up the speaker output. Continue until you can hear clearly without an echo.
Adjust Microphone Sensitivity
If the Google Meet echo problem occurs on your PC, navigate to your device's sound settings and lower the microphone input sensitivity or gain to reduce background noise.
Configure Meet Audio Settings

If the issue occurs during a meeting and you can't risk leaving, click the three dots (More Options) > Settings > Audio, and ensure that the correct microphone and speaker are selected. You can also enable Noise Cancellation (if available) to help reduce echo and background noise.
Close/Distance Nearby Devices Joining the Same Call
If more than one device is connected to the same meeting in a single room, try taking one device to the other room or leaving the call on all but one device.
If none of these options help, try updating the Google Meet app and restarting your device to clear any background processes. Alternatively, you can also try using an external microphone for better audio control.
