WhatsApp is developing a new message threading feature that will allow users to reply to specific messages in a more structured manner. This update aims to streamline conversations by combining similar responses into separate threads, making it easier to follow discussions without scrolling through long chat histories.
Currently, when users reply to a message, WhatsApp highlights the quoted text, but responses remain scattered throughout the chat. With message threads, all replies to a particular message will be grouped together in a structured view, allowing users to browse lengthy conversations more effectively. This functionality will be particularly useful in busy group chats, communities, and channel discussions.

WABetaInfo first spotted the new feature in WhatsApp's Android beta version 2.25.7.7. According to the report, users will be able to tap on a quoted message to open a dedicated page that includes all responses to the original message. A preview screenshot suggests that this will appear as a full-screen pop-up, allowing users to focus on a specific conversation thread without interruptions. However, it appears that the original message may not be accessible within the threaded view.
While WhatsApp hasn't announced an official release date for this feature, it typically rolls out new updates to Android beta testers first before expanding to iOS users. Given WhatsApp's recent trend of introducing new features (such as colorful chat themes, integrated social media accounts, and AI-powered enhancements), message threads could appear sooner rather than later.

This is a giant benefit for people who use WhatsApp for organizing plans or managing large group discussions. Instead of scrolling through chat logs for responses, users will soon be able to view all related replies in a single spot, keeping conversations structured and easy to follow. As more information emerges, the long-awaited innovation is expected to enhance the way people communicate on the platform.
