Nvidia is making a significant push into the Indian market by signing a series of deals with leading companies. The US chip giant, led by CEO Jensen Huang, is forming robust strategic alliances with major Indian corporations, including Reliance Industries, Tata Communications and Tech Mahindra, solidifying its position in the Indian market.
This collaboration aims to build an AI infrastructure across the nation. It shows Nvidia's unwavering commitment to India as a key growth market, recognizing the country's expanding tax ecosystem and skilled workforce.
Strategic Partnerships for AI Growth
One of the most significant partnerships is with Reliance Industries, where Nvidia will supply its Backwell AI processors for a state-of-the-art one-gigawatt data Centre in Gujarat. Once this facility gets operational, it will play an essential role in India's AI ecosystem, supporting extensive AI services and applications.
To further strengthen the infrastructure required for AI deployment in India, Tata Communications and Yotta Data Services have also committed to integrating Nvidia's H100 AI chips to support data-heavy AI processors.
Moreover, Nvidia collaborated with Tech Mahindra to develop Indus 2.0, an AI model designed explicitly for Hindi and its regional dialects. It is a significant stride towards creating AI solutions that cater to India's linguistic diversity.
Empowering India's Workforce and AI Development
This partnership expands with other Indian tech giants, including Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Wipro. This is to train the nation's skilled labor pool with over half a million developers on its AI platforms.
Additionally, Nvidia is also interacting with the start-up community. For example, CoRover.ai leverages Nvidia’s technology to enable a multilingual chatbot for Indian Railways that answers more than 150,000 queries every day. Nvidia's long-term goal of making India a global hub for AI exports is supported by this emphasis on training and support.
India's Rising AI Ambitions
Apart from these corporate collaborations, Nvidia has expanded operations that are aligned with India's national AI aspirations. This is because the government is investing $1.25 billion in AI-related projects, including large language models (LLMs).
