Metaverse technology is quickly becoming the focus of large tech companies across the world. However, veteran tech developers, like PlayStation inventor Ken Kutaragi believe that the proposed VR future is the opposite of what humanity should be doing.

Reported by Bloomberg, 71-year-old tech genius Ken Kutaragi expressed his disappointment with the ongoing Metaverse focus. While companies want everyone to work and live inside virtual reality, Kutaragi finds the concept annoying.
The PlayStation creator explained that virtual reality technology is an isolating experience. If everything has to be done with a VR headset, The Metaverse will quickly become an infuriating experience.
“Headsets would isolate you from the real world,” Kutaragi said. “I can't agree with that. Headsets are simply annoying.”
Kutaragi continued to explain that the separation from reality doesn't make sense. He said:

Kutaragi bets on Augmented Reality
The PlayStation inventor’s anti-metaverse views are not surprising. Kutaragi's cards have been placed firmly in the Augmented Reality basket. As the CEO of Ascent Robotics Inc., the PlayStation inventor wants to blend reality with cyberspace.
Much like Star Trek or Star Wars, the inventor wants to populate reality with holograms. Hologram technology is a very 80s/90s look at the future. However, it's a future that we still haven't been able to grasp.
Unlike the metaverse, true holographic displays would be an impressive technological feat as, essentially, Metaverse developers want users to just be closer to their screen.
