Samsung has paused its highly anticipated One UI 7 rollout, temporarily pausing distribution worldwide owing to a major platform impacting Galaxy S24 devices. The problem was initially reported by a trusted tipster, Ice Universe, from South Korea, from unlocking their phones after updating to the latest software.

Though the early complaints seem to be limited to the Korean Galaxy S24 models, Samsung has decided to take a cautious global delay, which will include devices like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. Notably, the pause affects both Exynos and Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S24 models.

CheckFirm data confirms that One UI 7 has been removed from Samsung's OTA servers; the older firmware is now listed as the most recent available. While some users have already installed the update, Samsung hasn't yet publicly acknowledged the issue or released a timeline for a fix.

On April 7, 2025, One UI 7, which includes Android 15, started rolling out, with the U.S. receiving it a few days later on April 10. The update was especially significant as it brought several AI-powered features to older phones that were previously only available on the Galaxy S25 series. These include capabilities like Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and Audio Eraser, as well as UI enhancements like the Now Bar and new widgets.

The global pause comes after earlier delays in deploying the One UI 7 to older devices, which are already months behind Android 15's development release. It also raises questions about whether models like the Galaxy S23 and A-series phones would receive the final update, especially since several are still in beta testing phases.

Currently, affected users will have to be patient as Samsung works to identify and resolve the issue. The company has yet to issue an official statement, but the hope is that a remedy will be available soon, allowing the global rollout to resume safely.
