  • Quick Answer: BlazBlue Entropy Effect is releasing a Nintendo Switch 2 version on August 13, featuring performance upgrades and a free content update.

If you haven’t played one of the year's best indie games, the roguelite BlazBlue Entropy Effect, and are a proud owner of a Nintendo Switch 2, you’re in luck. Astrolabe Games announced that the game is getting a Switch 2 version on August 13, coming alongside a free major update that will add a new character, an upgraded Training Space, and more.

While you can play Entropy Effect as it’s available on the Nintendo Switch, this Switch 2 edition brings some very cool performance enhancements, including the ability to play at 1440p while docked and 1080p in handheld mode. Both running at a steady 60FPS. Plus, it will have Game Share functionality.

If you own the Switch version, the upgrade path will set you back just $2, making it incredibly accessible to check out with much better performance.

As for the major update launching alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 version, this will include a brand-new character called Platinum. From the gameplay trailer, I can already tell she’ll be a blast to play. She’s a magical girl of sorts with very explosive capabilities, allowing her to wipe out rooms of enemies with a ton of flair.

If you haven’t seen it, check the trailer below:

The rest of the update will include an upgraded training space, allowing you to test out characters more efficiently, more branching paths during routes for that extra bit of replayability, and more.

As mentioned, the upgrade will be completely free, launching on August 13 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
