The disaster of 2016's Suicide Squad movie has not gone unnoticed. While excitement remains high for James Gunn's pseudo-sequel The Suicide Squad, many still remember the David Ayer original. However, it's well known that the released film was far from what Ayer wanted it to be.
Studio interference from Warner Bros plagued the early DCEU. From Batman v Superman and Justice League's crammed narratives to the ending of Wonder Woman, WB interfered as lot. But no DCEU film has been interfered with as much as Suicide Squad.
David Ayer releases heartfelt message
After years of being criticised for the released state of his DC movie, director David Ayer spoke up about the film. While fans have been able to successfully get Justice League's Snyder Cut released, Suicide Squad’s Ayer Cut remains unreleased.
After a film critic on Twitter stated that the director should abandon the idea of a director’s cut, Ayer fired back. In a long, emotional letter, the director had his “turn" and revealed just what he wanted out of the DC movie.

Suicide Squad ended differently
In the letter, Ayer explained just how different the movie was supposed to be. While Warner Bros would eventually have the film edited by a trailer company for fun appeal, the actual film was very different. For starters, characters had actual storylines to follow.
Ayer explained:
Fans of David Ayer will likely never see the original cut. Unfortunately, Warner Bros has no plans to release the movie. With The Suicide Squad releasing today, it'll likely be a long, long time before there's any hope of seeing the film.
