Launching back in 2023, the Nvidia RTX 4070 is a powerful card that many believe isn't worth the price. Despite some impressive features and a decent upgrade over older cards, the 4070's 12GB VRAM and its $600 price tag made it a hard sale.

While not one of the best graphics cards in the market, the 4070 is still a great card, if you can purchase it at the right price. However, the launch of the RTX 40-Series Super cards earlier this year took the spotlight away from the 4070. At least, that was the case, until now.

As reported by VideoCardz, the 4070 is now at the lowest price its ever been. Despite the fact that the original 4070 Ti and 4080 GPUs have been discontinued, the original 4070 is still going strong - and you can pick one up for $499 from now on.

Available via retailer Newegg, the 4070 is cheaper than ever to purchase brand-new. However, it's also a very telling sign that Nvidia is not only putting the focus on the Super variants as the more powerful models, but the long-rumored and leaked reveal of the 50-Series cards.

If a 5070 launches early next year at the same price point as its predecessor, no one would want to purchase the older model. However, knocking down the price makes it an easier GPU to buy for those on the fence, looking to finally get their PC into a VR-ready build.

However, for those looking at budget GPUs, there's no better option that AMD's offerings. Despite lacking the exclusive features that Nvidia cards offer, the AMD 7600 XT offers 16GB of RAM for only $729, for example. If you pair that with the best AMD CPUs or best Intel CPUs, and you've got a fairly powerful budget build worth playing your games on.#

In any case, if you're looking to pick up a brand new 4070 GPU, now may be the best time.
