- Quick Answer: Check out the most expensive physical indie games currently available for sale on eBay in May 2026.
Finding good deals for physical media is hard. Now add the scarcity of indie games released in physical format and prices can skyrocket.
These past weeks, we've seen a surge in popularity of some of the hottest indies of recent years. The overall trend, as I've explored in previous articles, is that physical media is on the come up, with collectors having to fork out extra cash for unique physical editions of indie titles.
Here, I'll take a look at some of the most expensive indie game listings on eBay this month.
Most Expensive Physical Indie Games On eBay Right Now (May 2026)
According to my findings, these are the most expensive independent games you can try and get physically on eBay:
- Hollow Knight Indiebox Edition (sealed): $2,999
- Poop Slinger PS4: $1,400.00
- The Messenger Special Reserve (sealed): $550
Hollow Knight Indiebox Edition

The biggest listing at the moment is a sealed version of a Hollow Knight IndieBox edition, retailing for $3,000. It was only made in 2017 so it's an extremely rare game, let alone finding a completely untainted copy.
Only 4,000 copies of the IndieBox version were made. Predating the eventual Nintendo Switch physical edition by two years.
Poop Slinger
No one's really buying Poop Slinger for its masterfully crafted gameplay. It is simply a novelty collector's item that can be yours for a measly $1,400.

The reason is simple: there are only 84 copies in the wild. It's a meme, a disposable video game that holds no real value outside of being one of the hardest physical games to get in the history of gaming. Don't expect prices to go down, if anything, if you are one of the lucky few who owns a copy of this, hold on tight and take care of it, you could be sitting on a goldmine.
The Messenger Special Reserve
Back to actual games, Sabotage's The Messenger has a very expensive edition, with the Reserve Games edition retailing for $550.

There's not a grand story behind this specific physical edition. It's a version that's out of print, and although it's not particularly hard to obtain, getting your hands on a completely sealed, basically mint condition version of The Messenger, comes at a steep price.
